What do you need to do?
It’s simple.
As you start to shop for your new carpeting, ask the
stores you visit if they are involved with any carpet recycling programs.
•If the retailers you are considering do not
recycle the old carpet, or are not sure what will happen to your old carpet, you should do your part and find a different company to purchase from.
• Carpet Manufacturers Warehouse, has been working
with installers and carpet collection companies since 2010 to keep our customers used carpet and padding from ending up in our landfills. To date we have help to divert 4,714,000 pounds of used
carpet and padding.
Recycling is very important. Carpet Manufacturers Warehouse understandes this. California has passed several laws to mandate that used carpeting will get recycled, and we support this effort. From January 2016 until December 2017, one of our team members Howard Sapper has been a member of the California Carpet Stewardship Committee. In January 2018 Howard was appointed to the newly formed Carpet Stewardship Program Advisory Committee. More information on the work of the committee can be found on CalRecycle's website.
